Hi, I’m Dr. Marisa West, a mobile veterinarian providing compassionate care for pets and livestock across Baldivis and surrounding suburbs. My mission is to make veterinary care accessible, practical, and stress-free, whether it’s a routine check-up, a vaccination, or specialized care for dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, sheep, goats, alpacas, cattle, or chickens.
I trained in Veterinary Sciences at Murdoch University and have been fortunate to learn from experienced practitioners, including Dr. Sanda Baxendell (Goat Vet Oz), Dr. Enoch Bergman (Swan Vet), and Dr. Kim Nairn (Portec). My professional experience includes running my own mobile mixed practice clinic for nearly two years, providing veterinary care directly to homes and farms.
During my studies, I completed a master’s research project on controlling Barber’s pole worm in goats and received the Integrative Veterinary Association Society Bursary for a project investigating copper oxide wire particles in goats. I have over 10 years of dog training and behavior experience, coaching owners to communicate boundaries and expectations effectively. I’ve also shown European Dobermans and other breeds at Dog West.
I come from Northern California, near San Francisco, and I absolutely love Western Australia for its weather, welcoming people, and beautiful farmland. Animals have always been central to my life—I bred and showed dairy goats in 4-H, raised rabbits for many years, and currently share my home with two cats. My favourite species? Goats—cheeky, clever, and endlessly entertaining!
